AMBERMAX (10% TEC) – dry, intense and highly diffusive woody amber

AMBERMAX 10% TEC

AMBERMAX is a high-impact woody-amber material, presented here at 10% in triethyl citrate to make dosing more precise and controllable. Its function is not simply to add a dry amber note: even very small amounts can noticeably alter the structure of a formula.

Olfactory profile

Amber, woody, dry, mineral and highly diffusive, with a cedar-like and slightly resinous facet. Its character is modern, clear-cut and structural, less soft than ISO E SUPER® and more incisive than woody ambers that work mainly through volume.

In formula

AMBERMAX is particularly useful for adding tension and depth to woody, amber, leather, tobacco and incense bases. At low levels it can work almost invisibly, increasing compactness, projection and persistence; as the amount increases, its dry mineral signature becomes more evident.

It is a material to use with restraint: in excess it can make the composition rigid and the base too dry or monotonous. This is precisely why the 10% dilution is practical in micro-accords and training formulas, allowing the balance point to be identified more precisely.

Why 10% TEC?

The stated concentration describes the product as supplied. Triethyl citrate is the solvent in the commercial preparation and makes the material easier to weigh and modulate. When comparing it with more concentrated versions, the dilution must be taken into account in the formula.

When to choose it

It is particularly useful when a woody-amber base needs greater definition, projection and depth, or when a dry contemporary booster is desired while maintaining very precise control over dosage.
